The Association for Digital Financial Services (ADFS) is a pioneering industry-led platform that brings together key stakeholders in Malawi’s digital financial services (DFS) ecosystem. Our mission is to promote inclusive, responsible, and innovative digital finance by fostering collaboration, setting industry standards, and championing policy and regulatory reforms that enable a thriving digital economy.
Established with the support of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) under the DFS for Resilience (DFS4Res) project funded by the European Union (EU) and Organisation for African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), ADFS serves as a unifying voice for digital finance players across the country. Our diverse membership spans banks, fintechs, mobile money operators, microfinance institutions, technology providers, insurance companies, regulators, development partners, and other ecosystem enablers.
At ADFS, we believe that digital finance is a catalyst for socioeconomic transformation. By convening stakeholders, facilitating dialogue, and advocating for enabling reforms, we work to expand access to financial services for all Malawians—especially the underserved.ADFS was formally established in 2024, building on over a decade of structured collaboration within the digital finance ecosystem.
